The BBC Singers join forces with BASCA to present a concert of Choral music inspired by refugees.

Historically, the plight of refugees has provided artistic inspiration for composers and librettists, and this remains the case in the 21st century.

Alongside eight works submitted by composers for this project are two BASCA commissions from refugees recent and past Basel Saleh and Michael Graubart, as well as works by two prominent British female composers Cecilia McDowell and Joanna Marsh.

Sebastian Androne-Nakanishi – Fearful Darkness
Aftab Darvishi – And the world stopped, Lacking you…
Chris Hutchings – Three Memories of Kurdistan
Deborah Pritchard – EXODUS
Lydia Jane Pugh – Adiraï (Misplaced)
Katarina Pustinek Rakar – Das Rufen der Seelen
Gareth Treseder – These Strangers, In A Foreign World (Hine ma tov)
Alison Willis – Non Omnis Moriar

Michael Graubart – Cardamom Snow
Basel Saleh – Salabtany

Joanna Marsh – Weighing the Earth
Cecilia McDowall – A Girl from Aleppo
